Submitting an image
First and foremost read the Competition Rules (very important).
Here’s a short video just to guide you through the process…..
Here’s what you need to do…
- Take a great photo… in 2010 please….
- Resize it to 1200 pixels on the longest side ….this is the best size for our gallery.
- Donate at least £1 per image to our Just Giving Page
- Make sure you leave your name so we know who your are!
- Head over to Submit Image / Contact Us
- Fill out the form making sure you’ve chosen a category for your image and given it a title.
- We’d love to know more about your photo so please include that information in the ‘Your Message’ section.
- Upload your image using the ‘Choose File’ button…. you can upload three at time if you like…. make sure you’ve donated enough though!
- Hit send and in a couple of days if the image meets all of our guidelines then it’ll appear on the 2010 Project website and your category’s gallery.
- Due to the volume of submissions we can’t notify everyone to whether a submission has been successful or not so subscribe to the RSS, Follow us on Twitter or join the Facebook Fan Page to keep updated.
What happens next?
All of the successful submissions to The 2010 Project will intricately mulled over by our panel of esteemed judges. The winning images selected by the judges will be included in our book “Life is a Bed of Roses”.
Resizing Images
Ideally we’d like the images resized to fit our gallery but don’t worry if you don’t know how to do this as we can take care of that for you….. this might take a little bit longer to get your image online though.
Here’s a short video showing you how to resize an image in Photoshop. For those of you who don’t own a copy of Photoshop you can easily do the same using Picasa which is a free photo editing software from Google. Click the link below to take you to the Picasa website. If you have a Mac, you can resize in iPhoto when you export a photo. Just change the size to custom size and fill in 1200 in the box before you export.
