We’ve amassed quite a Facebook following so thank you to everyone who has liked, commented and shared our page. One of the features we introduced to The Facebook page was our Image of the Week. This just for fun and based on how many likes, comments and tweets each image received.

10/10/10 Event at The 2010 Project
From 10:10am today we’ll be posting sets of 10 images from different photographers at 10 past the hour for the next 10 hours.
Everyone has kindly donated at least £10 (£1 per image) via our Just Giving Page.

10/10/10 Photography Event Deadline extension
We have have places left for our 10/10/10 event so we’ve extended our deadline to submit your 10 images to Midnight Friday 8th Oct GMT.
All you need to do is………
- Choose 10 images taken in 2010
- Go to www.justgiving.com/The2010Project-MacMillan and donate at least £10
- Go to the 10/10/10 Event Submission Form and send us your images
Every image you submit will be entered into the competition to appear in the final book ‘Life is a Bed of Roses’.
In addition for 10/10/10 only we’ll be including a profile of every participant. These profiles can include a photo, website, blog and social media links.You’ll also have you and your images promoted and shared at PhotoCreative365.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted images and donated so far. We’ve seen some excellent photography and helped raise funds for a wonderful cause.

10/10/10 Event update
We’re really excited about our forthcoming 10/10/10 event and just to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far we’ve added a few things….
The 2010 Project has partnered with PhotoCreative365 to help bring us further exposure. Not only will your images be featured here but we’ll be posting the very same articles at PhotoCreative365 half an hour later.
Each photographer will have a full profile on both sites including links to your website, blog, twitter feed and Facebook page. We’d quite like a little picture of you too!
We need your images and donations by Sunday 3rd of October so we have time to process them all.
Once again we want to thank everyone with their support for the project thus far and we look forward to receiving your submissions!
Just to give you an idea of how the posts will look here’s a sample…
10/10/10 24 hour photo event
Today we’re announcing what’s hopefully going to be an exciting event at The 2010 Project. On October the 10th 2010 (10/10/10) we’ll be hosting a 24 hour photography marathon.
From 00:10 GMT October 10th till 23:00 GMT we’ll be posting a showcase of 10 images from different photographers every hour, on the hour.
We’re looking for photographers to submit their images before Sunday 3rd October.
- Photographers must donate at least £10 to Macmillan Cancer Support via the JustGiving Page
- Photographers must submit 10 images taken in 2010 by the cut off date Sunday 3rd October.
- All of other the competition terms and conditions apply.
All of these images are to be put into consideration for the final competition and book.
Submitting your image showcase is easy just do the following….
- Go to our JustGiving Page and donate at least £10…. make sure you leave your name so we know who you are!
- Fill out the submission/reservation form below and upload your images or reserve your spot!
We’ll let you know what time slot you have….. if you’re not ready to upload your images yet then simply donate and fill out the form to reserve your slot.

The 2010 Project Newsletter #2
The competition is well and truly under way. We’ve now had well over 100 submissions, and word is spreading fast – thank you for that.
Judges
We are delighted to announce that, as well as Jane Green, we have 3 more judges now:
Mary McCartney.
Mary started her career as a photographer in 1995. Since then, her work has spanned the worlds of portrait and fashion photography. Mary’s assignments have led to her work appearing in editorial titles such as Harpers Bazaar and Interview Magazine, as well as high impact advertising campaigns for Gossard, Stella McCartney, Adidas, Aga, Boucherer and Mandarin Oriental.

Paul Ross
Paul is a television and radio presenter, journalist, and media personality, he is This Morning’s resident TV reporter. A rare talent within the media, Paul is as well known behind the cameras as in front; on radio as on television; and as a serious journalist as well as a quick-witted celebrity. Paul writes a weekly column for the Daily Star on Sunday. Paul has made numerous TV appearances and hosted his own show.
Ju Gosling
Ju Gosling, aka ju90, is a 40-something disabled webmaster and multimedia storyteller who works mainly with digital lens-based media, but also with performance, text and sound. Ju works largely within the theories and traditions of the disability arts movement, and has gained an international reputation. She recently completed a part-time artist’s residency at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), funded by the Wellcome Trust.

We are looking at having one celebrity judge and one celebrity photographer judge for each category, so if you know anyone who would be interested in helping us out, please contact us.
The 2010 Project Photoshop Action
Michael Shilling has created a very special Photoshop action especially for The 2010 Project. It is incredibly user friendly and comes with a set of control which work as buttons in your actions window.
This can be yours in return for a £5 donation to the JustGiving page.
The action is basically a set of colour filters which can be combined and painted non-destructively.

Judges
New York Times bestselling author Jane Green is our first confirmed judge for the competition. One of the founding writers behind the genre known as ‘chick lit’, Green writes novels that reflect the lives of real women today, with all the trials and tribulations that come with real life: from in-laws, motherhood, mid-life crises and loss, all of which are told with Green’s trademark warmth, wit and wisdom.
