Misty Trees

This photo was taken near Elterwater village in the Lake District, after the sun has set and the mist starts to lower. It produced a scene which I found very atmospheric in nature.

Patterdale Mist

This photo was taken from the slopes near Angle Tarn, looking north-west towards Patterdale and the southern end of Ullswater. This was taken early in the morning after a very cold start.

Curves in the Countryside

This picture was taken looking south from near Winskill farm, near Langcliffe, Settle, looking south over the rolling Yorkshire Hills. I like how the low sun and the autumnal light help to enhance the profile of the landscape.

Yorkshire Panorama

This picture was taken from the summit of the Warrendale Knotts near Settle, looking over the limestone pavement towards the humpback shape of Pen-Y-Ghent, one of Yorkshire’s three peaks.

Limestone Country

This photo was taken looking east from the Winskill Stones near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales. The photo was originally taken in colour but was converted to black and white in order to enhance the atmosphere.

Down the Valley

This photo was taken near Malham on my descent towards the village as the sun was setting. I particularly like the colours in the landscape as well as the patterns such as walls, furrows etc, which were enhanced by the low angle of the sun.

Robin

This friendly robin was seen hanging around the grounds of Edinburgh Zoo, hoping for a bite to eat. Ironically despite being at a zoo – this picture of a small, common garden bird was my favourite of the entire day.
