The 2010 Project

Photography Competition

The 2010 Project Newsletter #2

The competition is well and truly under way. We’ve now had well over 100 submissions, and word is spreading fast – thank you for that.

Judges

We are delighted to announce that, as well as Jane Green, we have 3 more judges now:

Mary McCartney.

Mary started her career as a photographer in 1995. Since then, her work has spanned the worlds of portrait and fashion photography. Mary’s assignments have led to her work appearing in editorial titles such as Harpers Bazaar and Interview Magazine, as well as high impact advertising campaigns for Gossard, Stella McCartney, Adidas, Aga, Boucherer and Mandarin Oriental.

You can find out more about Mary at www.marymccartney.com

Paul Ross

Paul is a television and radio presenter, journalist, and media personality, he is This Morning’s resident TV reporter. A rare talent within the media, Paul is as well known behind the cameras as in front; on radio as on television; and as a serious journalist as well as a quick-witted celebrity. Paul writes a weekly column for the Daily Star on Sunday. Paul has made numerous TV appearances and hosted his own show.

Ju Gosling

Ju Gosling, aka ju90, is a 40-something disabled webmaster and multimedia storyteller who works mainly with digital lens-based media, but also with performance, text and sound. Ju works largely within the theories and traditions of the disability arts movement, and has gained an international reputation. She recently completed a part-time artist’s residency at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), funded by the Wellcome Trust.

You can find out more about Ju at http://www.ju90.co.uk/

We are looking at having one celebrity judge and one celebrity photographer judge for each category, so if you know anyone who would be interested in helping us out, please contact us.

The 2010 Project Photoshop Action

Michael Shilling has created a very special Photoshop action especially for The 2010 Project. It is incredibly user friendly and comes with a set of control which work as buttons in your actions window.

This can be yours in return for a £5 donation to the JustGiving page.

The action is basically a set of colour filters which can be combined and painted non-destructively.
